The Embers in Mackinaw City

Decent venue. The food was good, the guest beers were good, I didn't much care for their home brews. Unique and clean restroom.

What a delicious meal! We had a Reuben with fries and mushroom, Swiss burger. BOTH delicious! The cherry cider had just a bit of tartness and was easy drinking! The waitress was attentive, quick, and polite. We will definitely go back!

By far the best place I’ve ever been too! Took our family there. Had the best service thank you to Emily you were awesome and we will definitely make a 3 hour trip just to come here to eat. Food, drinks and just the restaurant was absolutely amazing.

The real reason I’m writing this review is because of how poor our service was at Dixie Saloon. I just want to be upfront. I have written maybe 5 reviews my entire life. I hate Dixie Saloon that much. Regardless, Rusted Spoke was great. Tasty beers, and the tacos and BBQ plate were delicious and the service impeccable. We appreciated every second we were there and as we were there, we continued to reflect on just how bad Dixie Saloon is. I have no stake in the Mackinaw City restaurant game. I am from Missouri and have no interest in this. But if you are choosing between these two establishments, please, for the love of god, choose Rusted Spoke Brewing Company.

We visited here the afternoon of Tuesday, August 4th and were shocked to see one of the waiters (a dark haired gentleman in a green shirt) almost never wearing a mask correctly. It was either over his mouth (but not his nose) or down around his chin. He was serving the outdoor patio area, but walking through the restaurant to and from the kitchen frequently carrying food (while wearing his mask incorrectly). None of the other waitstaff or employees (that we saw) corrected him on this issue. We will absolutely NOT be back.

Overall very nice. Service was excellent and food was pretty good as well. Great beer selection. Maren, our server, was phenomenal and really made the experience positive. My only concern is that workers in the kitchen weren't wearing masks, so I docked a star for that

Great looking space. Decent customer service. The menus for the beer sit on a TV screen that you can't see from across the room. They use the same hops for all IPA and just add flavors to make individual beer. The food items weren't really impressive and I honestly didn't like either IPAs that I had. Better breweries exist.

Super cool place. Lots of selection for beer including several of their own - great staff, great service, huge portions so the prices are well worth it and the food was great.. Any of the BBQ is amazing

The experience from the wait to paying the bill was top notch. We even considered returning a second night during our trip. I had the tacos that were absolutely delicious. 2 of my children loved the brisket Mac N Cheese. It was a large meal, so come hungry.Beer selection was awesome and the staff was extremely friendly. Be prepared to wait for a seat, as this particular restaurant seems to fill up quickly! It’s worth the wait!

** update: the owner’s comment speaks volumes to the type of business this is. I have just reported them and I urge others to do the same.Food is great, however it is disappointing that the COVID mandates are minimally enforced.Currently there are 5 members of the waitstaff (that I can see) and the bartender not wearing a mask, tables are not spaced 6 feet apart, you are shoulder to shoulder with other diners and the bar is full. If you have any concerns about dining in public, this would not be a good choice.

Do you like faux-hipster breweries with a pretty standard Michigan beer selection accompanied by wood and black paint decor? Boy have I got a restaurant for you!It's a 4 star kind of place, kept from 5 because of a pretty lax Corona atmosphere, waiters that are a bit too busy for attentive service, and some prices that I think are above actual value. It's surrounded by a bunch of 2 and 3 star places, so this is likely your best bet when staying one of the Huron Ave hotels.
